Friendship Run characterises ISF World Cup for Schools. It’s not about winning – it’s about taking part! All participants from different nations will gather into six gigantic teams having up to 100 members. The 1,9km trail goes through Kadrioru Park and by the Swan Pond, Kadrioru Palace and Art Museum of Estonia. Participants will be greeted by Mrs Evelin Ilves. The event symbolises friendship of all nations.
June 28th at 6PM in Town Hall, Tallinn
Reception in the Town Hall as Mayor of Tallinn welcomes the Heads of Delegations. The event is invitational only.
June 28th at 8PM in Pirita Convent Ruins, Tallinn
Nations Festival will be held in Pirita Convent Ruins. All delegations present their country and culture with a 4-minute routine and in addition exhibit their souvenirs, hand-outs and sweets in a fair. Evening is hosted by Leho Luukas and Laura Talvet.
June 29th at 10AM in Estonian Open Air Museum, Tallinn
Participants will be introduced to Estonian culture within four hours. Open Air Museum is a unique place where one can see and try various things from making bread to blacksmithing.
Picnic and a dance party will be held in the village square. There will be folk band performing national music and dance routines, demonstration of national instruments as well as making an orchestra out of the participants. Everybody can take part in national games and tail-dance! Program is formed and produced by Estonian Open Air Museum.
June 29th at 3PM Sightseeing in the Old Town, Tallinn
The Capital of Culture 2011 Foundation is hosting a 2,5 hour sightseeing tour throughout the Old Town.
June 29th at 8PM in Song Festival Grounds, Tallinn
Closing ceremony will consist of various parts. Firstly a dance performance and folklore song where all the participants are encouraged to take part. Secondly the award ceremony in the Glass Hall, fallowed by the official closing ceremony of the competition. The grand finale is the farewell party with loads of refreshments and disco music.
